Hey there, word game fans! Ready to conquer today’s NYT Strands puzzle? We’ve got all the hints, spangram, and answers you need for Tuesday, March 4. Let’s get started!
How to Play NYT Strands
Strands is a fresh twist on the classic word search, brought to you by The New York Times. You can play it on the NYT website or the NYT Games app, alongside favorites like Wordle and Connections.
Here’s how it works:
- You’ll see a 6×8 grid of letters.
- Crack the code: Discover words that follow a hidden theme (the puzzle’s core challenge!).
- A clue will guide you toward the theme.
- When you find a theme word, it will highlight in blue.
But wait, there’s more! You’ll also need to find the spangram—a special word that connects at least two sides of the grid. The spangram reveals the theme and highlights in yellow when found.
Pro Tips:
- Letters can connect vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
- You can switch directions mid-word.
- On touchscreens, double-tap the last letter to submit your guess.
- Find three valid words (at least four letters long) to unlock the Hint button.
Strands keeps you on your toes with varying difficulty levels. Some days, you’ll fill in missing words in a phrase. Other days, you’ll tackle synonyms or homophones.
